THE
RITUAL

Latte art workshop at Sens: pour a heart, then a rosetta

Intro

Latte art looks like a trick until you understand what it really is: milk texture plus control. The pattern is the result. The skill is everything that happens before it.

Our latte art workshop at Sens is a hands-on session built to give you repeatable fundamentals—whether you’re a home brewer, a beginner behind the machine, or simply someone who wants to learn the craft.

What you’ll learn

We focus on the parts that make the biggest difference:

  • how to steam milk to the right texture (glossy, not foamy)

  • how to hold the pitcher and find a stable pour angle

  • when to pour high vs low, and why it matters

  • how speed changes the shape of the pattern

  • how to correct common mistakes in real time

You’ll start with the heart, because it teaches the core mechanics. Then we build toward a simple rosetta.

Why most pours go wrong

Most latte art fails for one of three reasons:

  1. the milk is too thick or too airy

  2. the pour starts too late, after the crema has broken

  3. the cup movement and pitcher movement aren’t coordinated

We’ll help you spot these issues quickly, so you can improve with fewer “mystery fails.”

How the workshop is structured

This is not a lecture. It’s practice.

  • we demonstrate the technique, step by step

  • you steam and pour, repeatedly, with guidance

  • we give small corrections that compound into big improvements

Expect to pour more than you thought you would. Repetition matters, and we keep the pace calm.

What to bring (and what we provide)

You don’t need to bring anything. We provide equipment, milk, and coffee. If you want to practice with oat milk, let us know—technique changes slightly and it’s helpful to compare.

If you’re a home brewer, feel free to tell us what machine you use. We can suggest adjustments that translate to your setup.

Who this is for

This workshop is for you if:

  • you’ve tried latte art and it never looks like you imagined

  • you want a clear method instead of random tips

  • you enjoy learning craft skills in a small group setting

You don’t need experience. You just need the willingness to try, fail, and try again.

Booking and group size

We keep seats limited so everyone gets hands-on time and real feedback. If you want to come with a friend, book early.

Latte art is one of those skills that rewards patience. We’ll help you build the foundation so practice actually pays off.
